The greening activity was themed “Save the earth by planting trees for future generations of the nation.” The activity involved the TNI-Polri and the community.
Tree planting activities were carried out simultaneously throughout NTB, with a total of 3,865 trees planted.
“Efforts to save the environment, rehabilitate forests and reforestation and afforestation can no longer be delayed because the earth is currently facing some serious global threats, such as floods, erosion, landslides, drought, global warming, extinction and loss of several types of flora and fauna, land fires and a population forest explosion and so on, “said the Chief of Police. Environmental issues of global concern, said the Kapolda, are climate change and global warming. “The most obvious impact is the long summer and the shorter rainy season, given the impact is so broad, it needs commitment from all components of the nation to jointly address global warming. One of the things that can be done is by planting trees that are able to absorb atmospheric CO2 levels, as well as trees that are beneficial for humans and the environment, fertilizing the soil, “he said.
The NTB Regional Police Chief also emphasized all Polri personnel and their families to plant trees in Mako and the Polri hostel, so that the tree planting program was successful and had a positive impact so that it would be felt by the next generation.
While the Head of Public Relations of NTB Regional Police, Commissioner Pol Artanto, said that behind this Regional Police and the ranks of the intensity of planting trees to address the global environmental conditions.
“NTB Regional Police and staff have carried out tree planting movements in various regions of NTB with the number of trees that have been planted 3,865 trees with an area of 233,700 M,” he said.
